Two new partners: Esprit and springerin
In March, two high-profile magazines have joined the Eurozine network as
fully-fledged partners:
The reputable French journal Esprit, founded in 1932, deals with
current events and publishes authors capable of combining social,
political, intellectual, and cultural analysis. It functions
independently on financial, political, and religious levels. Although
Esprit focuses on French events, its contributors always take into account major developments in International Relations. Currently published by Olivier Mongin, the journal hosts philosophers, historians, sociologists, writers, and journalists who take part in contemporary debates but who do not give way to simplistic overviews or to obscure and over-specialised studies.
Since it came into existence, Esprit has also aided in establishing intellectual traditions: apart from helping to develop existentialist and personalist theories and its involvement in anti-colonial activities, it contributed to the creation of a non-Marxist French left and gave its support to Eastern European dissidents at the times of the Iron Curtain.

The Austrian springerin has been in existence since five years and is
one of the leading discursive organs in the German-speaking realm of art, theory, cultural studies, new media and popular culture. springerin combines advanced discourses in critical theory with a detailed treatment
of cultural production in different contexts of globalization. As a
magazine with an advanced and trendsetting graphic-design, springerin
is seen as the model for an arts magazine of the future.
springerin combines coverage of prolific events with an investigative
look beyond the borders of the avant-garde of the Western art world:
central and south-eastern Europe, the Caucasus, India, as well as Africa
and South America are included in its realm. springerin is read by
curators, art dealers, artists, critics and a young urban public
throughout the German-speaking world and beyond.
