The drama of Russian thought or wandering between ideal and political reality
Andrius Martinkus
In this article the relationship between idea and political reality is discussed. It is focused on dialectics of metaphysical and political solidarity in the second half of the XIXth – first half of the XXth century in Russia’s social, cultural and political reality. The author attempts to answer the question how it could happen that culture, which could boast of having created a philosophy maintaining high level of humanism and moral consciousness could become a play-ground for abrutal Bolshevik ideology and why a unique cultural product was easily subjugated by Marxist theory imported from the West.
