Something about history and histories

The article is a reply of a well-known historian to the article of a well-known historian prof. academician Vytautas Merkys “Thoughts about History and Historians” published in Mokslas ir gyvenimas journal (2002, Nr.10, p.8-10). The author of the reply reproaches Merkys for his statement that the level of studies of history at Vilnius University become lower and that its present aim is “to eliminate the subject of Lithuania’s history”.
