Eurozine has been nominated for the European CIVIS Online Media Prize for integration and cultural diversity. The prize is awarded to Internet media outlets of “high journalistic quality” and is awarded on 14 April in Berlin. “Topical and pluralistic – here Europe talks with itself,” says the jury about Eurozine.
We are proud to announce that Eurozine has been nominated for the European CIVIS Online Media Prize 2011.
For over two decades, CIVIS has been honouring programmes on radio, TV, and since 2010 also on the Internet, which promote the peaceful coexistence of people with varied ethnic, religious or cultural origins. An international jury of independent media experts has selected the nominees. The European CIVIS Online Media Prize is endowed with 5000 Euro.
The prize is awarded to Internet media outlets of “high journalistic quality” that are “particularly suitable for the promotion of peaceful co-existence in the European immigration society”.
“Topical and pluralistic – here Europe talks with itself,” says the jury about Eurozine.
The prize-giving ceremony for the online award takes place in Berlin on 14 April 2011. The big CIVIS Media Prize gala is held on 26 May and will be broadcasted on the German TV channel ARD/Das Erste.
