Eurozine partners call for release of cultural activist Osman Kavala in Turkey

On 19 October, Osman Kavala, a Turkish human rights activist and businessman who funds a variety of cultural and civil society activities, including the Anadolu Kültür foundation, was arrested by Turkish authorities. He is still being held. Eurozine partner journal Index on Censorship has published an appeal for his release, as has Eurozine associate openDemocracy.
