Kristen Ghodsee

is Professor of Gender and Women’s Studies at Bowdoin College and a Senior External Fellow at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS). She is the author of five books, including The Left Side of History: World War II and the Unfulfilled Promise of Communism in Eastern Europe (2015) and Lost in Transition: Ethnographies of Everyday Life After Communism (2011), both published by Duke University Press.
