Neither new or a war
Don't call the fight against terror a "war"
Acommpanying the terrorist attacks on western centres, such as those that recently occurred in London, is a renewed willingness in politics and the media to describe the series of such acts, as well as retaliation to them, as “the new war”. However, there are good reasons for refraining from this hasty renaming of phenomena which often are neither “new”, nor “war”.
